Allah & Iran's landscapes, 2025

This artwork explores the complexity and richness of Iran’s landscapes through layered visual narratives. The composition integrates key elements—landform, land cover, hydrology, and human modifications—revealing the dynamic interplay between natural systems and cultural imprints across the country.

At the heart of the work is a series of concentric circles radiating from Mecca, symbolising the spiritual centre of the Islamic world. These circles extend across Iran’s terrain, mapping both the physical and metaphysical connections that shape identity, faith, and belonging. The repetition of the word Allah across the landscape reinforces this sacred link, weaving divine presence into the contours of mountains, rivers, plains, and settlements.

By combining cartographic precision with spiritual symbolism, the piece becomes both a geographic study and a contemplative meditation. It invites viewers to reflect on the layered relationships between nature, culture, and faith, as well as the way landscapes hold stories of resilience, transformation, and continuity.
