Down Under, 2026

Down Under Landform visualises the continent of Australia as a series of precision laser‑cut topographic plates. Beneath the coastline, each bathymetric layer drops in 2,000‑metre intervals, revealing the deep ocean basins, continental shelf edges, and submerged landforms that cradle the continent. Above sea level, 200‑metre elevation steps rise through ridges, plateaus and plains, culminating in the serrated peaks of the Great Dividing Range along the eastern seaboard and the ancient highlands of the west. Together, the layered cuts expose Australia not as a flat map, but as a sculptural cross‑section of geological time, tectonic uplift and erosional memory.
