This artwork highlights the seasonal cyclones and flooding risks threatening villages and cities on Viti Levu, ad-
dressing these challenges through the strategic cultivation of resilient grasses like Vetiver to stabilize land and prevent landslides. A graticule map forms the framework of the piece, with a cross-shaped design echoing Persian garden principles and Christian symbolism, creating both aesthetic richness and cultural resonance. By integrating grasses and water elements, the artwork emphasises resilience and sustainability while reflecting the enduring cultural, symbolic, and functional significance of water in Persian gardens, underscoring the harmonious relationship between human and natural systems.
