Resilient Heart, 2024
This GeoArt piece is a uniquely crafted base screen, an artwork born from layered representations of the Earth. The design integrates landforms, cities, and oceans, with selectively burned and revealed sections to symbolize the planet’s complex, multilayered nature. Displayed in a heart-shaped Bonne Projection, the piece embodies our profound connection to the Earth while highlighting the consequences of human intervention. This symbolic form underscores the urgent need for care and stewardship, a theme echoed in the accompanying videos.
The installation featured two compelling video works during the last Geoart exhibition (Webb Gallery Jan-Feb 2025):
- “Agroecology: Joining the Dots Between Climate Change, Land Degradation, and Biodiversity Loss”
- An animated video that visually demonstrates how agroecology provides solutions to interconnected global challenges such as climate change, land degradation, and biodiversity loss. This engaging and informative piece offers a hopeful perspective on addressing these critical issues.
- “Climate Change Impacts on Biodiversity”
A focused exploration of how climate change is reshaping ecosystems and accelerating biodiversity loss. This video not only highlights the challenges but also presents potential mitigation strategies, aiming to inspire meaningful action.
