Energy Landscapes in Transition (2025) is a contemporary energy transition art series by Ata Tara exploring Australia’s changing energy geography through GIS mapping, spatial data and artistic interpretation.

The series brings together four interconnected works—Burn Lines: Fossil Fuels, Renewables, Algae Futures: Cultivating Restoration, and Energy Mixity and Connection to Country. Each explores a different dimension of Australia’s energy landscape, from the environmental consequences of fossil fuel extraction to renewable energy, ecological restoration and the cultural significance of Country.

Through layered geographic information and cartographic interpretation, the series transforms complex environmental data into visual narratives that invite reflection on Australia’s energy future.
